The Snapshots of Summer Quilt-a-long 2024

The Oh Snap! Quilters, Snapshots of Summer story…

A long time ago, on a server far, far away…a group of quilty friends decided to make a sampler quilt and run a quilt-a-long. And that is about it.

Actually, it is a bit more complicated than that! We were all lucky enough to take part in Alderwood Studio’s Pattern Writing Academy a number of years ago and since then, we have been developing our separate businesses and skills. We came together with an idea of running a sampler quilt-a-long and after much debate, settled on the idea of Polaroids of our summer holiday. It is really hard to pick what you are going to do when such talented designers are throwing ideas about left, right and center (and you are thinking, ‘I wish I’d come up with that!’).

We wanted to mix up the styles of quilting with clear, detailed, and easy-to-follow instructions so people could try out some new skills and gain confidence in their quilting. By providing step-by-step guides, helpful tips, and creative ideas, we aim to inspire quilters of all levels to explore different techniques and patterns. We strongly believe that “You do You” when quilting, encouraging everyone to embrace their unique style and preferences. Whether you’re a beginner eager to learn the basics or an experienced quilter looking to refine your craft, our goal is to make quilting an enjoyable and fulfilling experience for all.

The Oh Snap! Quilters hosted the Snapshots of Summer Quilt-a-long in the spring and it was sew much fun!
